Need help making a model iPhone?

I was bored, and I was thinking of something to do, and then I came across a link where it gave instructions to build a model iPhone. It wasn’t so complete though.
Since I have an iPhone box and what was inside from the purchase, I was going to cut out the image of the iPhone from the box, and if i could, make a backlight using some LEDs behind it. Then, I would use modeling clay to make a mold of the the iPhone using the mold that held the iPhone in the box when I bought it. I would let that dry, and then paint it glossy black. I was going to print the Apple logo on cardstock and paint it glossy metal, then place it on the wet iPhone mold so that it could dry on. I would make buttons and the headphone jack using modeling clay also.

Anyone have any suggestions to my plan?
and yes, I am a fanatic.

this sounds like a good plan to start. however, I would not use the Apple logo – there is a copyright on it and youa re not supposed to copy it. Do something fun and put a picture of a pear or banana or something else on it to make it unique… Use air dry clay, or you can make it with the oven bake clay to and not have to paint it – buy the black Fimo or Sculpy and the silver for the buttons (or whatever color your buttons and jack are) More permanent this way… roll it thin and line the mold with it, being sure to follow the directions on the clay for using it in a mold. DO NOT use the plastic case-mold in the oven when you are baking clay. get a book on the sculpy or Fimo clay techniques and follow them for supporting the thin “case” of the ipod. Speaking of which, if you are going to do all this work, why not make something out of your own imagination so that it is original art instead of just a copy of somebody elses’ work? a perfect day for bananaphone?
