Everything on the App Store
One of the many features of the iPhone application has been downloaded by others, which could run on the phone. These applications consisted of games, navigation systems, sensors, restaurant, film editing, and much more. These iPhone applications quickly gained popularity. At the time of this review there are over 23,000 different iPhone applications to use.
The App Store began in July 2008. When it opened, there were very few applications that users can download and use on their iPhone. However, the number of downloadable applications has grown rapidly. One reason is that Apple allows anyone who has chosen, the ability to create and submit an application for review. If Apple loved the demand, they added it for others to use. This allowed the number of iPhone applications to grow rapidly due to user-generated content.
Later in 2008, the iPod touch was introduced. It was basically the iPhone without service phone and cameras. Owners of iPod touch are able to download and use most of the same applications that users iPhone is able to use. This has allowed Apple to make more off their iPhone apps than they would if the owners iPhones are able to use the applications.
The applications range in price from free to over $ 40.00 for most applications and more complex. The price flexibility allows anyone the opportunity to purchase applications. The creators are very popular applications able to provide income as well. Apple currently shares a 30/70 revenue share with developers, developers keeping it.
Currently, Apple App Store has been a phenomenal success that the number of available applications grow rapidly with each new day. As is so new form of company, Apple has an almost complete monopoly on the market for downloadable content for your phone. The iPhone App Store is available in many countries around the world, each with its own version. If Apple continues with their innovative products and high level of user-created content, they could be on track to become one of the most successful of all time.
The only thing that could impede success Apple is if people stop buying the iPhone and iPod touch. If another company creates a similar product that is better and cheaper, then iPhone App Store may begin to decrease. However, many companies have tried to compete with Apple in vain. It is likely that Apple will dominate the market entertainment handheld for some time to come.
If Apple continues its momentum, the current iPhone and iPod touch applications could soon compete with complex game console and other portable devices, such as games on the PSP and Nintendo DS. The main holding down the Apple platforms to completely dominate the market is the high price. If Apple never drop their starting price, there will be almost no hope for other companies. Apple has created a unique and effective with the App Store.
