Can I use my iPhone 3G in Buenos Aires?

I will stay in Buenos Aires, Argentina for six months. If I get my iPhone unlocked will I be able to use it with a cell phone company Argentina? What (if any) to provide services for iPhones? Will they provide Internet services such as AT & T doing here? Or should I leave my iPhone in the U.S. and buy a phone when I'm there?

Yes you can, make sure you turn off roaming or you will be charged with mass amounts of fees. You can still use Safari if you're connected wirelessly and you will still be able to use the phone. I would just check with your provider to make sure you take steps to turn off your roaming so you are not charged. My brother's boyfriend on (Canada) and went to the U.S. without having to turn roaming and was charged A LOT. Apart from that, you should be good though. If you really want to spend plans and obtain a plan from a provider, I think so they have a supplier that offers SIM cards can be authorized. Check with your provider course.
