iphone wifi not work?

my iphone 2g with no SIM card connects to wifi but when I click on safari it just a gray screen "Connection" and even the appstore.

First, confirm the iPhone becomes a local IP address (like 192.168.1.7) the router. On a networked computer, go to control panel router to 192.168.1.1 and access the page where it lists all the connected devices. Find iPhone IP address and rename the device. He immediately gets on the network. Go figure. This worked well with both our iPhones own and Nintendo WiFi.
