How do I install iphone os 4.0 beta?

I’m a registered apple developer and have downloaded the beta for my ipod touch but what do with the file? How do I install it? (opening it just opens itunes which doesn’t do anything!)
I have a mac.

in iTunes, ALT + click on restore button and select ipsw file with OS4 firmaware.
