Can I buy an iPhone 3G with a debit card?

I live in Calgary, AB. I just moved here about 2 weeks ago Because of my dad's work but I am from Calgary. I just opened a new bank account student here because I'm 16. The bank, I opened my bank account is the RBC (Royal Bank of Canada). This map is one week. My question is can I buy the new iPhone 3G on contract with this card. If this is not what I need? If you purchased an iPhone on contract with a debit card before you could explain your experience. Thank you, I Thanks for your help.

Of course you can use your debit card. Unlike credit cards, your debit card is good right now, because the money is debited from your account so there is no chance of you defaulting.
