My Iphone is not charging?

My iphone has a dead battery and do not load, I left it on the wall charger for about 3 hours, and the only thing on the screen is a sign of the charge with just a big red and it wont go past. I need this phone for important business calls. please help.

They will tell you to go to customer service (because of past experiences), then send it to you in. go through all that. But in the end you have an iPhone to be responsible.
