iPhone Cydia stopped working?
I have an iPhone 3G (3.1.3 Jailbreak) and cydia stopped working today.
Ok so I was following a youtube video on how to add all the cydia sources available (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBI_4HUG3_g&feature=related)
So I followed the instructions and aded the “allsources” (or something like that) package. Half way through downloading it, it crashed and rebooted my iphone. Now when I open Cydia, it crashes whithin a few seconds. I have tried re-jailbreaking my iPhone and this has not worked. Cydia just keeps on crashing.
You will need an ftp/sftp client. [WinSCP for Windows/Cyberduck for Mac]
1. SSH into your iPhone/iPod, hopefully you know how to do that.
2. Go to the root of your iPhone/iPod [/].
3. Navigate to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/cydia.list
4. Download the Cydia.list to your computer and open it using any text editor.
5. Delete the source you added. For example, “deb http://www.iphone.org.hk/apt/ ./” if this is the source you want to delete, simply delete that one line. NOT THE WHOLE DOCUMENT. Make sure you save the document as is. We are NOT adding any extensions.
6. Drag the saved document into the sources.list.d folder and replace the file.
7. Respring.
ALL DONE!
Alternatively if you have iFile installed on your iPhone you dont even need to SSH in, just navigate to the file above and make the noted changes directly on your iphone. Have fun!
