Should I get “The Droid” or should I wait for the “iPhone 4g”?
The Droid is going to be released this friday, November 6, but the iphone 4g or whatever apple wants to call it is scheduled to be released in June 2010. The Droid is the supposed iPhone killer and I think it probably is too, but when the next iphone comes out in a little over half a year, the Droid will just be another stupid, slow smart phone. I want to switch to Verizon from T-mobile, so I want to switch ASAP. So if any news of a Verizon iPhone is released, PLEASE SHARE, THANKS!
Let me start by pointing out the obvious, the iPhone has set the bar so high for smart phones that every phone that comes out claiming to be an “iPhone Killer” usually ends up succumbing to the grandeur of the iPhone. Examples? Samsung Instict, G1, My touch 3G, and the most recent case, “The Palm Pre.” I agree the iPhone lacks some features that are standard on other phones, but what the iPhone does, it does it so well, that you can’t find a anything to come even close to it. The problem is most phone manufacturers are still competing against the the first iPhone, and Apple has moved on far beyond that. The “Droid” wont be an iPhone killer, and I can guarantee it will be forgotten and overshadowed by the iPhone 4th generation. As far as expecting an iPhone for Verizon, no words yet on any talks between Apple and Verizon. On the other hand, all the bad publicity Verizon is making against the iPhone and ATT suggest there wont be a partnership.
